Wondersublime — An adjective in Crestignenglish describing something so far beyond the sublime that it requires reinforcement from a foreign language.

Proposed pronunciation: /wʌn.də.suːˈbliːm/ — WUN-der-soo-BLEEM.

Describes something so far beyond the sublime that it requires reinforcement from a foreign language.

Etymology

Formation: wonder + sublime → wondersublime.

The term is used when ordinary French can no longer adequately express the sublimity of an object, a sentence, an idea or a situation. Crestignenglish then takes over.

Canonical example

“Diplomacy, my dear fellow citizens, is measured by its silence. Saying nothing in order to act.”

— “That's wondersublime.”

Linguistic note

Crestignenglish is the English rendering of crestignanglais, the hybrid linguistic register of Crestignac. The original spelling Wondersublime is preserved.
